Top 10 Celebrity Auto Experiences (Not Ending in Death or Disability)

Many of us know someone or have experienced ourselves an incredible car crash story or experience. However, we are not famous, so nobody cares. Lucky for us, there are plenty of famous people whose every move is photographed and documented, including car crashes. Here are just a sample of some of the most ridiculous, crazy car crashes with celebrities… where they don’t die or become disfigured.

10. Undercova Brotha Eddie Griffin
Word to the wise. DO NOT let Kung-fu master Eddie Griffin drive your Ferrari. A $1.5 million Ferrari Enzo, 1 of 400, met its demise while Griffin was practicing for a charity race. The car belonged to the producer of Redline, the film Griffin was promoting at the time.

9. Britney Spears at the Gas Station with an Umbrella
This really isn’t a car crash, persay. But it must be noted when of the most famous people in the world takes on a Ford Explorer, Penguin vs Batman style. Click here to see Spike.com’s video of the event.

8. Mel Gibson – Passion of the Sugar ****
In case this would affect my chances of going to heaving (since Gibson seems to have a direct line to God), let me state that I was in no way equating Christ with Sugar ****. Moving on… ya, Mel was pulled over while drunk in Malibu and had some choice words for the office on the scene. If you have a chance, TiVo the episode of Law and Order: SVU where Chevy Chase reenacts the exchange. It’s magical.

7. Charles Barkley was on a mission
TNT’s lovable analyst Charles Barkley was arrested in Arizona this year for driving while intoxicated. Barkley, candid as always, was able to explain that he was merely in search of one of the best… Schmoe Schobs… he’s ever had. The cops completely understood and he was immediately released and suffered no consequences. Oh wait… psyche.

6. Jack Nicholson in the street with the Golf Club
Perhaps Britney drew inspiration from Jack Nicholson’s freak out back in 1994. After being cut off in traffic, Nicholson exited his vehicle and preceded to smash the windshield of the inconsiderate driver. Bonus: onlookers heard him screaming “Johnny’s Back.”

5. Lindsay Lohan and every car she has ever owned
I started researching any car accidents or incidents that the fallen star has been involved in. Let’s just say it would be easier to search for “Celebrity Car Crashes NOT involving Lindsay Lohan.” With a plethora of examples to choose from, just be assured that no matter what auto accident befalls her, she will be driving a new car (that you and I could only dream of washing) the very next day.

4. Jason Priestly
Here is an example of someone clearly not learning their lesson. The 90210 star totaled his Porsche back in 1999. Instead of taking some time off or purchasing a Volvo, he signed up to become professional race car driver. He was severely injured in 2002 after flying 180 mph into a ditch, but has fully recovered since. Next up… extreme ditch diving!

3. Cristiano Ronaldo
Soccer’s number one player in the world crunched his Ferrari on the way to practice for the Manchester United club. Despite significant damage to the car, Ronaldo walked away unscathed. Of course, he did roll on the floor holding his ankles for a few minutes at first.

2. Rowan Atkinson
Who? The British actor/comedian best known for his role as Mr. Bean has been involved in several car crashes with some very exotic and expensive cars. Apparently he must be very funny and successful, since he repaired his £650,000 (in 1999!) McLaren F1.

1. Nicole Richie
Sure it was before five in the morning. And yes, the 134 freeway is not one of the major freeways in southern California. But any time a person, regardless of celebrity status, is pulled over for driving on THE WRONG SIDE OF THE FREEWAY, the story must be given its due. Richie pled guilty to driving under the influence and was sentenced to at least 5 years of marriage to this guy.
